Sennheiser has just announced the Momentum True Wireless 2, with enhancements such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), refined ergonomics and an increased 7-hour battery life that can be extended to up to 28 hours by charging on the go using the supplied case. The Momentum True Wireless was Sennheiser’s first True Wireless earbuds, possibly the best sounding True Wireless offering when it was announced at IFA 2018 in Berlin. The company’s first foray into the world of True Wireless. Unfortunately, the exceptional audio quality was let down by poor battery life and touch controls that needed some getting used to.
Highlighted as the key enhancement of the Momentum True Wireless 2, the company has shared that the ANC ensures that one could enjoy incredible high-fidelity sound even in noisy environments, while its Transparent Hearing feature lets one blend in outside ambient sound at a touch, to facilitate natural conversations in comfort without even needing to remove the earbuds.
Design-wise, Sennheiser has made a few adjustments, most notably the earbuds are 2mm smaller than the previous model to improve ergonomics for the best possible fit and to minimize fatigue while retaining the shape and metallic touch panel with the charging case sporting a different shade of gray in its coordinating fabric finishes. The Momentum True Wireless 2 remains IPX4 rated as well.
Continuing its support for the company’s Smart Control app, one can adjust the built-in equalizer, customize touch controls that place control of audio, calls and voice assistants such as Google Assist or Apple Siri activation at one’s fingertips. The company’s latest True Wireless offering also comes equipped with the Smart Pause feature which automatically pauses audio playback when one removes the earbuds and seamlessly resumes when ones replace them back in the ear.
The Momentum True Wireless 2 will be available in black from April, priced at USD 299.95, with a white variant to be available at a later stage.
