- Extremely comfortable and light-weighted
- Balanced low-end
- Beautiful mid-range
- Excellent intimate sound stage
- Unnatural high-end
- Fragile plastic bridge and hinges
Well designed and extremely portable, the Sony MDR-1AM2 has impressed with its beautiful mid-range which exhibits sparkling details that brings coherence to fidelity as well as a sound stage with a balance of proportion in relations to placement and depth. A rarity from a pair of headphones at this price point.

The MDR-1AM2 is an outstanding pair of portable headphones. If you are in the market for a pair of closed-back portable headphones, seeking to find the perfect balance between audio fidelity and affordability, they are well worth a listen.
